How did everyone choose their user name for this site? Mine was a nickname my father had for me as a child :)

I used to like the toffeecushion sweets

It was the name of a tame(ish) pheasant (which limped ::)) where we lived before here.

It was near Chester BUT there wasn't a pheasant shoot anywhere close. ::)
-
Well I guess pheasants are more common than peasants ;D
Heck now I'm confusing myself between pheasants and peasants. ::)

katiecurrantbun - I've always wondered about the usernames and I'm sure each has a story! Mine is a pet name (with its own story) that one of my children had for me when he was young, and then taken up by another of the children. I won't go into the whole thing but if any of them (or my husband) came onto this forum they would identify me immediately - but I think I'm safe from that ;D
Hurdity x :)

;D

Mine describes how I felt when it suddenly hit me that my woes could be related to the menopause and I realised I wasn't 21 anymore :'(
-
Used my real name, Louisa but everyone calls me 'Lou' :)
-
Mine is the name of one of my ancestors - I like to use a name that has a connection to me but isn't a nickname that would identify me - don't want any of my family and friends recognising my name and reading about my meno symptoms! And as I felt ANCIENT when I first realised I was going through the change, using the name of someone from an earlier generation felt appropriate ;D

Mine's the name of an organ stop :)
Love it! Hello, organ stop ;D
-
Hello Dorothy! ;D

Would you believe I'm a nutty Tolkien fan?

I decided CaroleM was better than my husband's nickname for me. it's SQUEAK. Apparently that's what I yell when I can't find something, things just go stupid etc, etc, etc.
-
'cos I'm a girl and just crazy about greyhounds!
-
Can't tell you without completely revealing who I am to anyone reading this who knows me in real life...loved the books as a kid though! ;D
-
Same here ;-)
-
Oh this is good :)
Mine is a childhood nickname that one of my cousins gave me when I stayed with them when just a little bitty thing of 3 years old. After the Bette Davis film came out two years later the nickname sort of stuck and if I wasn't to be found the mantra went up ........'whatever happened to baby jane?' :)
-
I wouldn't bother 'cos my menobrain is already like putty ;D
-
Mine is a symbol for luck and good health!
-
Mine is the place I take myself off to, in my head, when feeling stressed.

Mine's a bit obscure and from my favourite Seinfeld episode - really funny sketch involving his Dad. You've got to watch it to appreciate it ...
-
It was the name of my beloved cat, now departed. He was a boy - I'm not :-) :-) :-) That's him in my profile pic - how I miss him x
-
Mine was what my ex used to call me 😒 it's just two halves of my first and second name,as jaylo did,it just stuck
-
Blue- a color I've always loved and identified with. All my favorite people have different lovely shades of blue eyes, a clear sky on a sunny day, sadness in struggles, peace.
Butterfly- something about the butterfly...not sure really....the renewal/rebirth, beauty, freedom...change, growth, transformation into something new.

What my granddaughter first called me that's stuck. A name used by thousands of others across the country no doubt. Including the Queen's great grandchildren. :D
-
