Hi,
I have always had fine straight hair, like forever, all my life.
Since starting my meno journey my hair has changed considerably.
I now have very wavy, curly hair underneath but the top section is still straight.
It drives me mad because I can't do anything with it, even if I straighten it in the morning the waves are back by lunchtime!
It's a mess!
Has anyone else experienced this?
Obviously I expect some change with age, I'm 50.
If it was the same all over it would be fine but it's decided to take on multi personalities, any suggestions?
Thanks
Shellb

HORMONES >:( ::)
When certain breeds of dog are neutered, i.e. spayed or castrated, their coats go 'woolly'. Spaniels in particular R prone to rough coat. So maybe ???
Can you not accept that you have curls? How is it after it's been washed? How long B4 the curls begin to form ...........

I love the curls CLKD, especially as I've never had them before. They get curler as my hair dries but it's still very straight on top and at the sides, I have long hair too. It's the fact that it isn't consistent that's annoying as I don't know what to do with it to make it look nice, it's also very fine, although the curly bits feel thicker.

Hello Shelb.
My hair is straight and although the individual hairs are fine there is a lot of it so overall it appears thick ( if that makes sense). I find that spraying my hair with plain old vinegar after washing and whilst still damp makes it sleek and shiny. This technique may help smooth your new curls and let them blend into the rest of your hair. Cheep and cheerful so worth a try!
Take care.

Why not ask a hairdresser to trim back the straight hair to allow the curls to shine?

Good thinking CKLD, a good cut will probably sort it out. Good hair stylist love sorting out problem hair.

Thanks ladies,
I'm due a cut, so we will see xXx

I was due a cut - well long over-due ::) in the morning but feel too ill to attend. I haven't had a cut since the end of September so look like an Afghan Hound ........

Ditto!
I just have no interest in having my hair done as I usually manage it well myself. I find it a chore to sit there and let someone else 'sort' it out.
I resemble a cave woman most days!

So when we meet in town we will recognise each other :clapping:
