Hi there, back ache is so common and can have a hundred different reasons why it aches, can be muscular or disc related,or radiating from the gut, osteopenia or maybe something simple as needing a new mattress. I constantly have back ache but have had a slipped disc in the past ,sometimes an MRI is needed to see what the problem is  :)

I've always suffered with back pain  especially lower back but as meno/peri hits we get more achy also which may make it worse..but I agree there can be many different causes.  :)

Yes. The musculoskeletal aches of menopause are real. HRT is supposed to help. I have LCIS so cannot take HRT. I was a dancer and never had back problems and now at 52 feel like a grandmother. It’s due to the loss of estrogen and it sucks.

I've asked 2 female gp's if hrt would help alleviate aches and pains, back ache etc and they were adamant it wouldn't. I was hoping to try it for that.  These gp's are quite open to hrt and one in particular is hrt go to person at the practice.   Many on here say it has helped them.

My mom experienced similar foot pain during her menopause, and it got so severe that we had to call an ambulance one night... Unfortunately, they weren't able to provide much relief. However, I found an amazing chiropodist near me who really helped her. The improvement was remarkable, and she finally found some relief from the pain. If you're experiencing persistent back aches, I recommend seeking out a specialist who can offer personalized care to help you manage it effectively <3

Update - after a clean breast MRI last December I went back on HRT in January. So far, so good! Really improved my joint pain. 🙂
