So - anticipatory anxiety is my worst enemy, currently my GP has prescribed Propranolol ......... as well as my usual AD.

It mayB too late 4 U to speak to your GP so perhaps try Bachs Rescue Remedy.  I have used the mouth spray with success: a couple of squirts and never thought whether it would/not work.

Do U take book tapes or music with you with which to have some 'me' time?

CLKD:
Oh and do take lots of sanitary protection 'cos the change of water, food, temperature etc is sure as eggs is eggs will bring on a bleed!

clkd may I ask, in your experience - do you think propranolol would help with my anxiety, or citalopram or valium in the weeks leading up to my colonoscopy - also how long does it take for these to work and could I just take them temporarily until after the procedure as I am still very anxious and possibly depressed about it all and probably will be until it is over and done with x
