Rw555:
Hi everyone - I haven’t been on here in such a long time as my meno journey was going well ( I started meno at 40 and have been on HRT for 11 years Kliofem) until about 3 weeks ago - when I started to bleed. I went to my GP and they saw me that day. She was lovely did a urine sample and a smear and red flagged me for hospital referral. She told me to ring them in 2 weeks to see where I was on the list - urgent referrals are 6/7 months - I live in NI. I have insurance so I have decided to go privately as I can’t wait that long. I am seeing a consultant next week and I’m very anxious about what this could be. I am still bleeding 21 days later  :'( - so something whatever it may be is not right. I am still taking my Kliofem and GP didn’t tell me to stop it. my BP is also high and I have been asked to monitor for a week and give in recordings on Friday. I also have my HRT review with the nurse this Friday as well. I know no one can tell me what is actually wrong it just feels better to share my experience with others who have experienced something similar. Thanks for reading and for any shared experience or advice x

Morning.  Any unexpected bleed should be checked out.  Is it like a 'normal' period or when U wipe?

Take a list of your worries to your appt., including the HRT that you have been taking.  Has that helped with the symptoms you were trying to ease?  Is there some1 to go to the appt with you?

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks - it started as just when I wipe but yesterday I went through a few pads - not heavy but def needed a pad. It’s very clotty - started very dark brown but is now more red and dark red. I have felt nauseous and have awful cramps. Yes my sister or husband will go with me although I’m not sure I’ll find out very much at initial consultation. I’m going to start my medical history list and list of questions today - thanks for taking the time to reply

CLKD:
Dark blood has been 'left behind' due to a lack of hormone to push it through which is now showing fresh blood on your pad.  It may simply B that your own hormones are having a flurry!  I had very clotty, excruciatingly painful periods for 10 days, then a break of 2 followed by 24 hours of brown staining.  Normal 4 me and was the same each month.

Let us know how you get on.

You have done absolutely the right thing getting investigated but just to reassure you, bleeding on hormone replacement therapy is almost never cancer.

Your risk of endometrial cancer on continuous combined treatment like kliofem is less than that of an untreated woman of the same age.

There is no need to stop treatment whilst awaiting investigation.
