Mental health and menopause?

<< < (2/2)

juliaC:
I'm wondering if it's possible to have an infection and it affect your mental health and cause flushing?

All this started with a tingling in my foot (shingles?  I had some tiny blisters form but so small) and a chest infection.  Sudden deep depression and then facial flushing over two weeks.

Since yesterday been 'glowing' despite increasing hrt patch and then last night sudden (sorry tmi) diarrhoea out of nowhere.

Face still feels hot.

Wondering if the whole thing has been an illness rather than sudden change in menopause after 6 years.  (or am I underestimating menopause and flushes)

CLKD:
Shingles is a whole different kettle of fish!  DH had it = felt fluey for a few days and ached a bit, it was a week B4 he would let me drag him to the Pharmacist by which time the rash was definitely herpes, I actually GOOGLED in the middle of the night then nudged him  ;D

Anxiety and depression can be drastically impacted by hormonal upheaval.  How were U during your menstruating years?

My outbursts of temper and sobbing were definitely cyclical.

juliaC:
I had 'good' childbearing years, didn't seem to get fluctuations in mood with my cycle.

I've just realised I've changed from an estriol cream 0.01% w/w to Ovestin 1mg of estriol.  It's been the only change, shouldn't do anything but I wonder if it's that.

Definitely had an infection too, niece and nephew went down with the stomach thing a day later, so that is unrelated at least.
