Trixiebell if it’s any consolation I’ve been having exactly the same for a couple of months, since a car accident in late November, which makes me think anxiety has played a part in all this! I am getting burning all over the place and have tested negative to h-pylori ( had it 7 years ago and took the full whack of tabs) but even then the burning only went away after a clear endoscopy, anxiety and perimenopause was what I put it all down to! I also feel/felt very nervous of ppis even though I had to take them last time. BUT having just read all the very sensible responses to your post I feel that perhaps both of us are possibly doing ourselves no favours by not at least trying to ease our symptoms. Alesha is quite right in what she says and I, for one, feel a lot more confident to start the lanzoprazole I’ve been prescribed! Also, if it’s not helping and we don’t take for too long, we really have nothing to lose! I was also told by my meno nurse and gp that it’s fine to take as and when i.e for 2-3 days or a week just so the tummy can calm down, so i would take the advise of the lovely ladies on here and give the medication a go, I know I will now!!
Also I am the same as Ayesha used to be and v suspicious of medication of any sort, but in CLKD’s words quality of life is utmost and this acid is really not nice at all!!
