Mild cramps six weeks after Mirena inserted. Is this normal?

(1/1)

awake and nervous:
Hi

I had a Mirena coil inserted on 4 March. (This was done during a hysteroscopy and biopsy to investigate postmenopausal bleed. A polyp was discovered during the procedure and was removed and sent for biopsy. Both biopsies were clear.)

As anticipated, I had mild cramping and light bleeding for a week or two after the procedure, but then both disappeared.

I restarted oestrogen on 25 March after the all clear.

This past week (now 6 weeks since the Mirena was inserted and 4 since the post procedure cramps and bleed), I’ve been experiencing mild cramps on my lower left side, not unlike menstrual cramps. The feeling is always there, but low level. More discomfort than pain. And no bleeding.

From what I can learn online, it can (in some cases) take a while for your body to get used to the coil. And it’s possible this might be what’s causing the cramping.

But it seems odd to have had a few weeks where I felt nothing, and to suddenly feel cramps now.

Has anyone else experienced this?
