If you're in the UK you could take him a copy of the NICE guidelines. They used yo say stop at 60 but now there is no age limit because transdermal hrt is so much safer than the old horse urine type. As above, vagifem will help vaginally atrophy but it's a very low, localised dose so won't help any other symptoms. You need hrt for that.

I don't believe vagifem will help these symptoms you're having, because it's localised to the vagina area and helps that area only. Only a very small amount gets into your blood stream, so it won't be enough to help I wouldn't have thought, and as it's such a small amount the side effects will be low risk.

According to my gp, vagifem is like taking one hrt tablet a year.

Try looking for alternatives for your symptoms, eg acupuncture for flushes, collagen powder for hair & nails.

I've been taking vagifem since last August and haven't noticed any side effects, though can't say about weight as I haven't weighed myself.
