For years we've roasted a pheasant which does Lunch and Boxing Day evening meal.  We may have a lump of beef for a change ........

That C.mas pud, dated 2017, lurks in the back of the pantry ............  ;D

As usual we will have a pheasant with trimmings early evening to fit in with what might be on TV.

However: we have a Christmas Pud from 2017  :o ........... every year we tell ourselves that we will 'try it in the New Year'  8)

Firstly my Mum in law is love .....but some 25 years of marriage sees her come to ours every Xmas day stay over night and rush off next day because she is going to sister in laws and has to bake quiche or sausage rolls.  Hubby is one of four -!!!!

I am older and lack the ump and as mentioned a holiday cottage I love was available in Northumberland for Xmas.....hubby would not hear of it.  So decks are up and dinner will follow Xmas Day.....but last 5 - 6 years I have rebelled(sort of) prepared veg and pots etc turkeys comes out and rest bunged in.  Works fine for me and dishes recyled.  Cause its my day too, ;D

This year my only query is should I make or buy the gravy.....is that lazy!!!!

Make it with the juices?  A bit of corn flour to thicken it.  Apparently  ;D

I suspect that the pheasants/veg will last a few days so it'll be stir fry for speed as we go through that week ;-)

Um.....have to admit my gravy making is old school none of this ju stuff.  But him indoors like instant granules.....he know at Xmas and when we have sirlion roast he wont get instant!!

Hubby late Nana who was just so special always said I made "proper gravy" bless her but when you have another half who is so fussy- old habits go out the door.  Still I get my way in the kitchen ;D  most of the time.

Enjoy the pheasant......hubby wouldn't eat that....but me thinks he wouldn't be invited !!!!
