« on: February 19, 2022, 02:15:51 PM »

Hi I'm menopausal and have started oestrogen gel 5 days ago. im due to take Utrogestan tablets next week. 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.I'm trying to concieve too. But since past few days I'm feeling flutters in my stomach. Any ideas what could this be? I have occasional hot flush n absent periods since last year.  So I thought I will try hrt just to get my periods n hopefully concieve As I hear that left over eggs shoot out when your menopausal.  Please please help.

Hi Martina - your post got missed.

Sorry I can't help re the flutters in the stomach.

You are also right that in later peri-menopause there can be a burst of activity by the ovaries which some call "the last fling" but this is unpredictable I think? Taking HRT won't prevent this from occurring provided the oestrogen dose is not very high - many women report their natural cycle overriding the HRT. I'm not sure if the temperature change signifying ovulation also occurs while taking HRT but that maybe something to try and perhaps the fertility clinic can advise. Also I suggest mumsnet if you haven't already. The abbreviation used on there is TTC ( Trying To Conceive).

All the very best
