You could also contact The Cinnamon Trust - they arrange 4 carers to walk dogs for people who no longer are able to.  No doubt some owners in the scheme die so a dog may become available?

Cinammon trust said they mostly deal with cats, but have no  dogs
I know the lady who runs the yorkshire dog rescue she lives near me,and said she would let me know if anything became available,
I was looking on pets4homes today and reported a breeder [if she was one] who was selling a pup, without being chipped or vaccinated and would only accept cash or bank transfer, obviously a scam,i reported it and it was taken off,
Another i enquired about, also a scam i suspect because i got a message she was blocked, and pet no longer fpr sale so another scam
I recognised the first one as i was told by someone else to watch for this so called  breeder who scammed her out of £250
THE SCAMMERS ARE OUT IN FORCE,and thieves
[Sorry caps on by accident]
sOMEONE ON FACEBOOK HAD THEIR PUPPIES STOLEN, AT KNIFE AND GUNPOIT, SMASHED THEIT WAY IN

Thefts have got worse since these prices increased, i had an argument with one person who said they have chance of a better life if sold for high prices,i was fuming, it's just an excuse to charge more, greedy breeders more like.
How are people going to afford these prices when so many are losing jobs etc.
Seen a few already for sale due to people going back to work, but still more than i and others could afford
Surely the prices will have to come down
Also why are people still breeding at this uncertain time?

I would insist that every breeder has new owners B4 they even consider having pups but how would that be Policed?  Even if breeders are registered with the LA they are never checked.  Most areas allow 2 breeding bitches on a property .........

I had an argument years ago about the high costs of pups, was told that people wouldn't dump them if they had paid a lot.  However, this doesn't take into account a change in circumstances as well as people not understanding the breed they have chosen; how much mess pups can make; or the anxiety that may take over with another hungry mouth to feed [happened to me].

I would like to see a Law passed that every breeder agrees to take back any dog of theirs at any age if circumstances alter.

I wouldn't give the Kennel Club the time of day

Local Authority.  To breed pedigree cats and/or dogs, the property has to be registered with the LA who do an initial look over and give advice. Which is how Puppy Farms thrive.  Many get the once over by the LA but double/treble the amounts of pups they churn out.  Often the KC will register these without ever seeing the conditions etc..   :-\  :'(. Puppy Watch campaigned about this in the 1980s but we were banging our heads against brick walls.
