That's probably the nicest collective term. I've often wondered how birds derived their collective terms. A bellowing of bullfinches seems most inappropriate for such a shy bird with a barely audible call! A mischief of magpies, however, I can understand!

the 1st siskin of the year, flying in with 50+ goldfinches.  However we have a 🐀  >:(.  ........ so out we go to move all the feeders around - some feeders are already in deep soak whilst others are attracting birds  8).  That fluffy black mould is growing already, hence the need to move the feeders as it's too 'claggy' to dig the soil over.

Lots of goldfinch here too,such pretty little birds,also a magpie doing acrobatics on the suet ball feeder  ;D………oh oh, I have one Santa emoji
