Does sore breasts mean too much oestrogen
« on: May 17, 2019, 01:59:02 PM »

Because mine are suddenly quite tender. Not unbearably so but enough for me to notice. They arenít particularly swollen. I upped my gel by half a pump. Does the tender boob situation mean I should decrease? I hate having to ask advice so much! Thanks in advance.

I had a lot of breast pain and tenderness when I upped my oestrogen dose and I never thought it would go but it did settle after about 5 months. However it always comes back halfway through the progesterone phase (Utrogestan used vaginally on a cycle) and disappears a few days into the withdrawal bleed so clearly that plays it's part too. My specialist did say that, despite my continuing quite low blood levels of oestrogen, she thought my breasts wouldn't tolerate a higher dose but didn't see it as a problem per se.

Not sure if that helps or not  ;D.

When I was given HRT at first, my breasts became sore and swollen. The meno doctor told me iíd Increased too soon and had to hVe a lower dose. I have only increased by half a pump. Iím worried iíve Gone too high. Three and a half pumps is what I now use.
I still feel very low in mood though.

Hello Birdy

I don't want to confuse you but I recently had tender breasts that only resolved when I stopped using Utrogestan but kept my oestrogen levels the same. I'm sure high oestrogen does usually cause this problem but in this instance the Utrogestan seemed to be the culprit!

Hope you feel better soon.

My estrogen has been what most people would consider sky-high at times over the last couple of years (2,000+ pmol) but it's never resulted in sore breasts. I only get that when I introduce progesterone, usually about halfway through the dose.

It's the progesterone that causes it for me

My anxiety is sky high today. Woke up at 5am, crying, feeling horrifically scared and I just cannot live like this. It is insane. No matter the dose of formula or HRT I am exactly the same. My breasts are like melons today. Two cup sizes bigger, and now very sore.

Hey you. Oestrogen 3.5 pumps, utrogestan100 continuously. About two months. Not new to HRT though! Post meno. Fed up. Fat belly, no sleep, anxious, feeling tired, old and crap.
I think I may be insulin resistant.
I absolutely stuffed my face with chocolate and cake this week. Unlike me. It was like I could not get enough. And I slept better, which is worrying.

I think itís the prog...
Too much of mine, like when I higher the dose, gives me sore boobs, which I thought was the oestrogen, but now Iím thinking the prog, also makes me jittery, and raises my anxiety.
And donít get me started on the bloat! ....

Birdy.....have you tried any other prog...?

2 months is early especially with a change over - stick at it for a while yet, don't give up. Could be progesterone, my boobs get bigger just a little bit on the 2nd half of my progesterone cycle (I couldn't take it continuously doesn't work for me).  It took ages though when I changed to gel and utro for all my anxiety symptoms to settle - 5 months!  During that time I still had all sorts of bother but each one calmed and slipped away a little at a time as the weeks went by until they went altogether.
