Hi

Has anyone got any recommendations for recipe books for high blood pressure and cholesterol?

Preferably quick and easy ones.

Thank you 😊

Hi

Not books, but lots of information on what foods have been proven to help lower cholesterol is available on the Zoe Study website. So whilst you're waiting for book recommendations it could be worth a look to get an idea of ingredients you could be considering using.

My mum gets the British Heart Foundation magazine sent to her for free. This always has some recipes in it for heart health. You can sign up for free for a monthly email and quarterly magazine for recipes and other interesting artlcles. Once you are signed up, you have access to a wide range of recipes on their website.

Otherwise, I would suggest you try your local library to see what they have. That way you can have a look through and see if the books there have recipes that appeal and aren't too involved and then maybe buy your own.

Hello VioletAquarius

I understand that eating as many plants as possible and very little meat and dairy is the way to go.

My husband has the British Heart Foundation magazine and I have used some of their recipes however I think they could do better by further emphasising the benefits of eating more plant foods.

Wishing you well and take care.

K.

I’ve been using The DASH Diet Cookbook for a while now and it’s been super helpful. I’m not big on complicated meals, so I like that the recipes are pretty straightforward and don’t need a ton of ingredients. I started paying more attention to my blood pressure and cholesterol after a check-up last year, and this book made it easier to adjust my meals without feeling like I was on some strict diet. Definitely worth checking out if you want quick and doable options.
