I normally have a winter handbag and a summer handbag. Depending on my mood, as I have several bags in each category, I will change them = or gp through the who;e winter with only one bag. My summer handbags are colourful and go with everything while the winter ones are either black or red or muted colours and are usually leather while the summer ones are cloth.
I have been known to sew pockets into a bag that does not have appropriate ones!!!!!

PS. At the moment I am using my Rachel Wachtmeister one with appropriate sewn pockets!

Sadly no.  The bus company did not have a policy on what to do with lost stuff, the driver was not a permanent one - he was doing the shift for his mate and did not even know the route - and no one handed it in to the police.   :(

I've got a lovely little '50's style handbag - it was my Mum's - that doesn't hold very much but that often gets admired.   Normally, I'm a shoulder-bag person but for this one, I will make an exception.   :)

That's a big shame dahliagirl  :-\

I will be looking in the charity shops for something not as deep but with more pockets  ;)

What’s worked for me is finding bags with dividers inside or built-in sections for different items. It really helps keep things organized without needing extra pouches. I also try to go for ones with light-colored linings so I can actually see in there. Black interiors are the worst for losing stuff!

You might check of the reviews for Coach bags on https://coach-bags.co.uk/. They have a lot of styles with practical features like multiple compartments, which could be great for solving those bottomless-pit problems.

Criky, has it been a slow news day  ;) ;D.  I've had several different styles since this thread began: currently my black over the shoulder design is OK as long as I remember that there is a hidden pocket.  Recently I searched high and low for my bank book - it turned up in the hidden pocket  ::)

Sometimes I transfer my essentials: tissues, money, keys - when I need a larger bag i.e. shopping in charity shops for books.

Suitcase - I can pack our 2 within a couple of hours when necessary.
