I could sell the UK as a holiday destination: days out or short breaks ;-)

Perthshire is gorgeous as it the whole of the Trossachs.  We stayed in Callender (where Dr Finlay's Casebook was filmed) and saw so many different lochs and scenery and lovely little places  :)

With the palm trees 🌴

I'm just back from Jersey, loved it. Loads of ww2 history, even went into a German bunker which was amazing. Beautiful unspoiled beaches too, will definitely be  back.

Yep.  Palm trees.  Quiet.  Plockton is 'owned' so inside or out, those living in Estate properties have to get approval if they want to decorate or make alterations, hence it remains in the 1960s ......... I went when I was 11 and took Himself there 11 years ago to share and it hadn't altered a bit.

My Mum went on a plane trip when she was 81 - had to get a Passport and everything  ::) - to Jersey  :o [long story short]

Nearly50 we go there in 7 weeks time.  :) Can't wait. The underground museum is one of the best we've ever been to. Everything in chronological order. I often pass stuff in museums, hubby & I read everything in there. We didn't do Nigel Mansell's car museum. Do you know if it's worthwhile?

Didn't watch F1. Says online that most spend about 2 hours there, so maybe worth a look.

Me too, read every word. It was a German bunker near the Corbiere lighthouse which was a highlight though, even went up and down vertical ladders to see part of it. I'm terrified of ladders so this was a big achievement ;) Loved watching the surfers at St Oeuen's Bay, felt like Queensland. And the walkway out to the lighthouse is great at low tide.

Didn't go to the Mansell Collection, did go to an animal cemetery nearby though which was weird! I spent most of my time doing coastal walks really, it was so lovely to be out and about in blue skies.

Hope you have a lovely time :)

I'd never been to an animal one before, most of the animals were from the 1930s. I suppose the occupation and so many people having to kill their pets before evacuating put paid to its use for a while :(

I read about the sadness about having to part with some pets.
