Hi Elizabeth Rose- flying and driving would be terribly expensive. I do believe that a cruise would be your best option. Not sure who's doing Norwegian Fjords? I've been cruising with P&O ( very British ) Azamara ( American, smaller ships, more informal and very good but expensive although all inclusive ) Royal Caribbean and Princess ( big ships, very American, some drinks packages available on RCI - not a big fan of Princess although they were ok ) . My favourite is Celebrity ( RCI , Azamara are part of same group ) We've had some lovely holidays on Celebrity. If you're willing to spend a wee bit more and would like a balcony, try Aqua Class- you have unlimited access to the Persian Gardens ( spa suite ) and access to Blu which is a smaller restaurant serving lighter food. We always ask for a table for 2 as we are anti social but you can speak to the tables either side so it's up to you if you want to engage or not. We usually have room service breakfast and then toddle off to the coffee shop for a nice cappuccino before heading out , lolling in the adult solarium or reading a book on the balcony Sometimes we go to the shows, sometimes not. You can be as active or sociable as you want to be. I also like Celebrity as they operate an informal dress policy. I'm always smart for dinner but if I don't want to get the ballgown out, no one is going to be sniffy about it!
Depends what floats your boat but given the prices in that part of the world, you would be better off with a cruise. The crucial thing is to choose the right ship!
Have your tried Avon Skin so soft ( green bottle ) dry oil spray for the mossies.? Works on their tough cousins, the dreaded Scottish midges x
