I have groupon deals sent to my e-mails. I often have a browse and look at trip advisor   :o
Holy begoly, some of the reviews and some of the responses have to be read

We don't go abroad these days. Combo of health issues and the dog. I have stayed in some great places and very few bummers.
Think I have found some where in the Trossachs for our 30th. Looks wonderful, waiting to hear back from them.

Thank you all so much for helping me out with this one -Littleminnie Cubagirl and all of you -  :foryou:
I've always been rubbish at holidays.  I think it stems from chrons disease at 24 and not being able to go on holiday for most of my adult life owing to operations etc.  Plus no confidence,  I have a bag I'm overweight - hardly beach material.  But since my 50s my health is better so I am now able to go but I'm rubbish at booking .  I think because deep down I'd rather stay at home I lack the initiative.  S yesterday when I had a lovely encouraging lady I was fine,  today was different.  But think it's sorted now - got to phone in huge morning .  Then get the credit card out :(
Doesn't help that our bathroom has costs loads, plus other things coming in that need paying.  But hubby loves going away - our time he calls it and he is right I know
Night all and thank you xx

Did anyone see the girl with a stoma having her photograph taken whilst sunbathing?  Looked OK and she has accepted 'the look'  ;)

Once you are home from the trip you will be fine and will know if you have enjoyed yourself and to what extent  ;) - often I want to race through the holiday and get home so that I know if I"ve been OK ……….

Yes CLKD I saw that picture.  I have had a bag for almost 30 years but have never been slim enough to wear a bikini lol.
Yes I am a bit like that with holidays - I get anxious, am ok ish when I'm there,  glad to get home.  It's annoying for my husband who loves travel but all booked now and hopefully it will be fine x

I have always been the same.  Look forward to a holiday, sort of; always used to pack weeks in advance in case I had a panic nearer the time and couldn't face doing it; always glad to get back to my own bathroom  ;)

Being reading recent reviews of hotel we're going to next month & panicking. It's mainly had really good reviews, suddenly a batch of horrible ones.  :-\

Sometimes these reviews are 'spite'.  I never read them.  You could advise the agent to enable them to check?

I know, some folk complain about slightest thing. Hubby reckons it's a group who have been there together having a dig. Most say it's beautiful.

Did Hubby think it worth while letting the Hotel know?

Hotel are reading the reviews CLKD, in fact they write replies online.  I'm sure if we have any complaints when there we will be sure to let them know. I won't put up with stuff.

You can never please everyone no matter how hard you try or how good it is. I am an avid review reader and you can usually spot the ones who like to nit pick and those who want money off. If the majority of reviews are good then I would ignore the rest.

Cubagirl - I wouldn't think there was anything to worry about.

Friends of ours have a hotel,
They had a spat (about 4) of duff Trip Advisor reviews recently.
Turned out to be a group (posted separate reviews) that had stayed and had taken the hump at an old stone built hotel having small rooms. There have been totally positive reviews before and since.

The thing with reviews is to look at the whole not the exceptions.

Yeah checked other reviews on different sites & the Americans as a whole have given good reviews & they are very hard to please. So all's well.
