Honeybun  :thankyou:

I'm just dreading THE mother phone call before I leave saying she is not feeling well or whatever.  I do feel guilty leaving her but she is very well looked after so I have to just go and get on with it xxx

Thanks for your support ladies xxx

Now if Nick Nairn was going to be there in person then I would be there asking to hold his spatula.

It would be rude not to HB!  ;D

Probably a bit late now - but have a lovely holiday Groundhog

Has anyone been to Sicily? OH is fixating on going there in September. Seems pretty expensive though.

Back from my short Barcelona break.  It is a beautiful city but ( sorry there is a but....) my lack of stamina combined with excessive heat - 35* - took it's toll.  The hotel was lovely though and we had a nice time.  My mother was fine so all in all I've learnt that my mother can survive without me, even though she said she has been very lonely.  Plus my holiday of choice is a cruise.  Short city breaks are just toooo exhausting !

Glad you had a break anyway..
Hark at me  ::) but could you step back on your mother's care just a bit.
At least I have my sister to take a share but everything seems to be dumped onto you.
Hold onto that holiday spirit if you can.

I do have help HB - my mother has carers 3 times a day who do the basics.   I think I create problems as I worry and fret - my sister helps and walks away.  I suppose it's because it's not the life I want her to have and it know the more I give the better life she has.  But at what cost - that's the problem.
Thank you for your kind words xxx

If we do city breaks in hot places we tend to go early (May)  or later  (October) much easier to get about when it not too hot. Glad you had a good time though Groundhog, now you know you can do it. Well done.

Glad you enjoyed your trip GH. I'm not too good with heat, says she heading for the Caribbean in just over 5 weeks time. Although it's more bearable in St Lucia with a strong breeze most days.

I remember doing open top bus in Cuba once, omg did I fry!
