Our God Our Help in Ages Past seems appropriate to me.
Failing that, the Troika from Lieutenant Kije is about as Christmassy as I get.

I'm hardly noticing Christmas preparations yet this year, as I'm knee-deep in studying for an exam on 8th January.   I can't even have Christmas carols going in the background because I've got to think, listen to and inwardly digest diverse musical matters (organ-related).  Last night, I broke the boundaries and listened to O Holy Night, O Come Emmanuel, Hark the Herald and When A Child is Born, on youtube.   Didn't get any studying done but felt wonderfully Christmassy afterwards!

I've got one present bought so far - a dress for my daughter which she spotted when we were out shopping together two months ago.  Don't know when I'll do the rest, in between my studies and getting ready to play for all the Christmas services.   But it's got to be done!!!!!

I'm really grateful to family members who are going to do all the Christmas dinner prep, so that all I have to do is come back from playing for the Christmas Day service (after having played for the Midnight)- and eat!!

Just went to add another wrapped present to my secret stash in the airing cupboard only to find the cat had ripped open 2 of them. Thought it was funny until I went to rewrap them and found that not only had she clawed through the wrapping paper and inner plastic bag, she had pulled threads on my youngest grandsons lovely chunky cable knit cardigan :(

I put it away quickly because hubby will go mad. He's not a cat lover at the best of times a more of a cat tolerator.I can't get another one to replace it as I got it when we were shopping out of town together. I'm hoping I will be able to pull the threads to the back with a needle.
