Got a Sebo, best one I've ever had (and I've had a lot). It goes from hard floors to carpets without any bother. It's an upright. Love it.

My new vac came today.  It's Panasonic and black and bright green.  It does carpets and hard floors.  I have just used it on downstairs and talk about suck the carpets up!!  It is very powerful.  It is a bagless one so you can see all the much and fluff it picks up.  I am amazed at how much more grit is in the container so it's definitely stronger than my old Dyson.

Sounds like we live in a filthy shack doesn't it? ;D ;D  It's just we have horses (not that they live indoors ;D ;D) and a dog and we're quite outdoorsy people and we are not big on taking our shoes off. :-[  So we carry in hay and grit etc.  Also when it's not raining the patiod doors are always ajar so the dog can nip in and out and he brings grass and leaves in.  I better stop there - it's sounding worse and worse! ;D

LittleMinnie - We've got a Sebo too.
Agree with you about doing carpets and hard floors equally well.
It's also good at filtering / sifting dust out, so helps with allergies.
Quite heavy though, but it definitely works.
