Nexplanon Implant

Hello
I went to the doctors yesterday to have the mirena coil fitted to help with my early symptoms of menopause - however as I haven't had children there was a problem fitting the coil and after a few lengthy and uncomfortable attempts the doctor had to give up...I was given the option of having an op to fit it or try the Nexplanon Implant which I was advised could help with my symptoms. 
I hadn't read up anything about this option as was set on getting the Mirena...
I just wondered if anyone had tried this option and if you had any information/feedback?
