Daughter texted me to say levels had stabilised again, though how much sleep she got I'm not sure. I'm waiting to hear back from her at the moment.
Sure big sis will soon settle too.
Funnily enough, despite the problems we had with our son at birth, neither daughter nor I remember her kicking off in same way as her eldest has on occasion.

She's seems to have settled fine, for now. Daughter made contact with specialists from Manchester about the glucose levels and they said she's right where she should be.  There may still be blips along the way, but for now all is good. She's gaining weight and seems to be thriving.

Her big sis will be 5 in the summer and she is managing to adjust to not being numero  uno. Some blips, but generally OK.

Just thought I'd update you all, as you have been most supportive! Granddaughter is nearly 8 weeks old now and thriving. Still on meds, but her mum & dad are hoping that they may wean her off it soon as she has responded so well. They see endo team sometime in June.
The only problem they have encountered is their GP who is very reluctant to prescribe the necessary medication. They are having to fight tooth & nail for the stuff.  Daughter is fuming as is her partner. Bet if it was one of their children it would be a different story. Fortunately they have hospital contacts who they can get to sort this out. The meds are expensive, but it's not like she needs lots of the stuff on a daily basis. Cutbacks!!!

Is it insulin that she needs CG.

No matter....if the baby needs it then she needs it. What is his problem. It makes me really angry. Just prescribe what's needed and that's it.

Glad to hear she is doing so well. Where have the last eight weeks gone.

it can't be long before you see her again. She will have changed so much in that time.

Thanks for the up-date.  If  a Consultant prescribes a medication via a Surgery then it should be given - is the Consultant aware of the problem, if not he/she needs to know.  They may be can prescribe via a Pharmacy directly?

No it's not insulin. She needs some glucose based med as she produces too much insulin.

They also had a problem getting the blood test strips at the beginning. Daughter said she could buy, but downright refused to do so.  Ridiculous state of affairs.

They asked for meds a bit early as they are coming up here and don't want to rely on our local hospital/pharmacy being able to get the stuff, as you do. Nobody with a medical condition would dream of going away without sufficient medication. Daughter says GP is a twat and is seriously thinking of shifting to another surgery, if they continue in this way.

SHift before too long then?     it makes me SO cross, it's a National Health Service with treatment free at the point of delivery and supposedly support as required .......... this is a babe and family which need to know that they will get what the Consultant knows is good for them

Tell me about it! Crazy state of affairs. Hospital will sort it out I'm sure. Just makes me mad.
