Great news Cubagirl. So pleased at progress. I desperately wanted to breast feed my daughter. Persevered for 8 days - completely unsuccessfully and had to move to bottle. Nurse told me first week or so is very helpful to the baby. Formula may not be the same connection but it does give the. balanced nutrition.  Hopefully your daughter can balance the disappointment with relief that treatment is working.

Granddaughter's glucose levels not doing well. If they haven't picked up by next feed, daughter going to phone or take granddaughter back to hospital. It was looking so good too.  Levels have been slowly dropping since they took her off one of the meds. They're not panicking yet, but daughter says she will be too scared to sleep just in case.  Can't say I blame her, I'd be the same.

Go back sooner rather than later?  No doubt Babe will be up and down, she will be growing and needing feeding adjustments anyway.  How's the Big Sister?

Big sis is adjusting now to not being queen bee. They are trying to set aside time to have 1 to 1 with her, though not always possible if baby demands feeding. Daughter says they will try hard to spend time with big sis at weekends - trip to the park etc.

I am sure Big Sister will feel important to help and be involved. It takes time. Hopefully baby's levels will balance out soon and this will become a distant memory.

Fingers crossed she stabilizes soon.

It must be difficult to get her readings just right when she will be growing so quickly.
