Further UPDATE: Effects of Depression

<< < (43/43)

Ayesha:
My depression was caused by a hormonal imbalance and once I recovered I was ok without the need for medication, family couldn't believe the difference in my behaviour from one day to the next, a total personality change.
This depression lasted over two weeks but it gave me an insight into what happens to the body when in a very low state of mind and I can certainly empathise with others who have to endure it long term where medication would definitely be needed.

But, sounds like you are on the mend  :)

CLKD:
Tnx.  It's not simply my head that becomes affected, my whole body becomes depressed to the point that I am unable to get out of bed, eat, stay in the bath and U all know how much I love a long soak with bubble bath, good book and a cuppa.

CLKD:
The extra 5mg of escitalopram eased the sudden onset of depression - so now on 10mg x 10mg morning and night until October.

However, anxiety hit badly  :'(, due to a pre-booked 5 days away next month. I knew the risks when I made the booking and although DH said that we could cancel, my GP has been good and prescribed today Propranolol. 8a.m., 2.p.m. and 10p.m. - it will be 9, 3 and 11 though because we don't wake that early  ;) this morning it was 10 B4 we opened our eyes.

Anticipatory anxiety is the worst for me  :-\ :'( hopefully the new regime will C me though!
