Can you tell I'm a wee bit excited?  Why? GP has put me back on HRT! RESULT!
After a horrid couple of weeks and an even more horrid weekend I went back & said that the AD's just weren't doing the trick for me.  He agreed, yes I said HE.  He says I've put up with enough and that the HRT I used to take which is Oestrogel is safer than tablets as body doesn't absorb it in the same way that it does a tablet.  So am back on it from today.  Nearly skipped out of the surgery, except I was having a flush at the time.   hotflash

That's great, Joyce. You can't say you haven't given it a go but enough is enough!

Really pleased for you Joyce.
I was on Oestrogel for a while but I got a skin reaction to it - but I'm sure you will be fine. I'm probably one of the minority.

I was on it in the past and no skin reaction,  so hopefully not now.

Thanks girls for all your advice & encouragement on here.  At least I know it wasn't just me.  Looking forward to getting back to normal, whatever that is!  Grin Grin Grin

I'll still be posting on here though, as no doubt something else will rear its ugly head in the future.

Great news - I wish you well.  Always good to hear of someone on the up, so to speak, hope it starts to make you feel better real soon  Smiley  Not sure about the normal thing tho, I've not been normal for years  (or perhaps ever?)  Roll Eyes

Just thought I'd let all you ladies who are debating whether or not to take HRT.  I restarted oestrogen gel again 2 weeks ago and am pleased to say that I am now only getting 2 or 3 flushes per day and no sweats.  I think it takes up to 4 weeks to take effect fully, but so far so good.  Now all I need to sort out is that snoring husband of mine who was "clearing drains" last night and is onto clearing subterranean passages now which is why I'm on here!  Grin Grin Grin

Am really pleased for you Joyce. As for being on here at this hour  I haven't been to bed yet - I find that if I go before 1 then I just can't get off to sleep. Hope your husband quietens down soon  Smiley

It stopped the night sweats first.  Only get the occasional daytime flush and they are not nearly as bad as they used to be.  I have more energy again and feel on top of things , which I hadn't for a long time.
Snoring continued on & off all night.  I went back to bed at 4ish after nodding off on the sofa & he was still snoring albeit slightly quieter.
Thoroughly annoyed him by having a fit of coughing when I went back to bed, asthma is pain at the moment!   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes  He denies sighing at me.  Well tough luck!   Wink

Hi Joyce, so pleased HRT is working again for you! Long may it continue! I have followed your posts about this as I too came off HRT a few months ago also seemed to be suffering similar to you.  Just this week I managed to persuaded my GP to let me have HRT again, I was over the moon!  Am trying a lower dose patch than before but already the day time flushes are reduced  Smiley so I'm hopeful the night sweats and sleep will improve soon.  I'm also married to a very bad snorer, you have my sympathy, there have been nights when I could have cheerfully punched him! I came downstairs a few nights ago and could still hear him snoring for England! I do find it quite funny now that he complains I keep him awake by flinging the bed clothes on/off and tossing and turning, perhaps this is womens revenge at last!! Grin
