Help huge "period"
« on: March 30, 2017, 08:46:45 AM »

Hi there
Could anyone help me please? I've started femoston 2/10 ( the sequi one not the coninuous) I'm day 8 and I've started a huge clotting bleed. It's a proper clear out. I'm due to move onto the progesterone part in a few days. If I'm having a period should I take them? Is there any point/harm?
I presume I ovulated and the extra estrogen has caused the bleed to be heavy.
What should I do? Thanks

Not an expert on this - I've been taking the 1/10 for 9 weeks - but you bleed in the oestrogen bit, not the progesterone bit. So you'll get a bleed again probably in the first week of the oestrogen-only. As far as I can see that's fine, just carry on taking it. It's designed for peri, isn't it, when your own hormones can decide they're feeling left out and it's time to party.

I agree - just carry on taking it as per the packet - hopefully your own cycle will get weaker eventually and any breakthrough bleeding will become less frequent.

If bleeding problems continue, do ask your doc for advice.
