Shirley42:
I asked for HRT without northisterone as recommended I think by you Susan, I take ferrograd tablets, just one a day but should check the amount of iron in my vitamins I'm taking called " head high" which are meant to be for healthy hair x

Shirley42:
I know what you mean, I did mention it to my doctor, he said the last blood tests I had in October showed everything was fine including my thyroid which is good :) I just panic about everything and when I see the hair coming out I get a bit scared!! X

Taz2:
So if your blood tests were fine have you stopped the iron Shirley?

Shirley42:
No, I'm still taking it, do you think I should stop?

Taz2:
If your levels are ok then there is no need to take it unless your doc is still prescribing it? Did you have a look at the link I posted about too much iron. I believe, though, that the iron prescribed by doctors is a higher strength than that obtained over the counter which is to stop too much iron being absorbed.

I reckon it depends on who decided you needed iron in the first place? I had to take iron tablets for nine months while my stores built up and then I was told to stop.
