Hubby's birthday

(1/4) > >>

mrspurple:
So it is hubby's birthday in a few weeks.  I asked him if he would like a 'thing' or a 'treat'.  He has asked for a 'thing'.

I am really struggling for ideas.  He isn't a man's man, doesn't go out drinking, loves the gym, doesn't like fishing or football, books are out as the family gave him a kindle last year.......

Can anyone help with ideas for a 55 year old in touch with his feminine side?

EAB:
I booked my OH in for a pedicure and facial at a local salon. Thought he was going to have a heart attack when I told him. He very reluctantly went and has raved about it since. Not every mans cup of tea but you never know. Oh, and he goes now once a month to a turkish barbers for one of these fancy hot towel and open blade shaves. Loves it.

Oh Mrs P, that was my dilemma last week. I asked my hubby what he would like and he could think of nothing at all. I asked several more times but he still had no idea. That also meant that when the 3 sons asked me what to get him, I wouldn't be able to suggest anything and consequently they would spend money they don't have on something he doesn't want or need.

I got rather down about it actually as I could imagine the day of his birthday arriving and him having no presents at all. In the end I bought him 2 shirts and suggested a DVD from the 3 sons...not very original and I didn't feel very satisfied with what I'd got him.

I told him I really would like him to try and think of a few ideas in future as it's hard to buy something for a man who has everything  ::)

So I'm afraid I'm no help at all really. We tend not to spend a great deal on presents but we do still like to have some !

Does your husband have any hobbies? Would he like a meal out with family or friends? Amazon gift vouchers?

Anne B .... what a great idea!

But that was a 'treat'  :-\

A 'thing' ............. would he like to be a Zoo Keeper for a day - have a look at your nearest zoo  for ideas?  Will need to sleep on this I think

Does he have any food favs. You can get all sorts of different things now. Taster boxes of chocs/cheese/wine etc. You can arrange to have little things delivered every month for a year.

I do know how you feel. My OHs birthday is just after Christmas and by that time I have run out of ideas  :-\
