Would I be right in asking for combined continuos hrt when I see the doctor tomorrow, have had no Period for over a year???

Yes, Shirley.
They're listed here (with an explanation of when they're appropriate) and I should avoid norethisterone if I were you, because of your hair loss issues.

Hi Shirley, great advice as usual from everyone, good luck with the docs and don't give up, I studied herbal medicine at one point and the best you can expect from sage is a very slight reduction in sweating. I hope you can try some hrt, no harm in giving it a go, and it could really really help.

Susan, thats a really good list.  I never realised there was a long treatment cycle for peri's who have periods infrequently.  GPs put women on such unsuitable preparations.  Really most women would really benefit from taking a list into the practice and also interested to see the price of everything, which obviously influences decision, sadly!  ;)
