Manual or automatic

As some of you may remember our son got a new car recently.  He's visiting his girlfriend at the moment and left me with his car. Thing is, it is an automatic.  Is it just me, but once you're used to a manual car do you find it really hard to drive an automatic?  I've got a sore left leg, due to me making sure foot is glued to the floor.  ;D
Too many gizmos and gadgets.  A button to turn wing mirrors in/out when parking.  Various other switches which require you to think what's where.  Added to that, you have to remember to hit the break pedal when taking car out of neutral to put into drive, something which both hubby & I forgot about the other day.  We were stuck in a huge queue of traffic and couldn't get the car to move forward and had to put on the hazards until hubby eventually worked it out.  Fortunately, no beeping horns - which was amazing!
Give me my manual gearbox with gear stick any day!
What do other's prefer?

I've always driven a manual until I started driving my husband's car and now I much prefer an automatic  :o  It's much easier to drive, guess I've just got lazy  ;D

I love automatic now that I'm used to it; would never choose to change back.

I only passed my car test 4 years ago and i had so many lessons in a manual car and was doing badly. I kept asking the driving instructor if he would think about getting a Automatic car but he said no but he would put me intouch with someone who had one, but i didnt want to leave this driveing instuctor as he was so good and he took me on when i thought nobody would as i had the panic attacks so bad i could hardly go anywhere 10mins from my house so   left learning to drive, then my daughters husband said he worked with someone who was a driving instuctor and he would take me on poor bloke don't think he knew what to expect with me. Then one day he turned up for my lesson in a automatic and i have never looked back, passed my test first time at 47. I do love driveing though i have to say that i still cannot go say further than 20 mins on my own. To this day i still feel pleased inside that i can drive.  My family at the time mocked me terrible for driveing a automatic including my daughter. But a year later my daughter too had the same driving instructor and passed in a automatic.

CLKD:
A lot of accidents are caused by automatics though  :'(
