Have to stop taking Femoston Conti!

It is unlikely that, as the bleeding has stopped and the scan is OK, the gyn would do a hysterscopy.   Change GP surgeries!

Hello girls.

I have had another bleed and am still spotting slightly but it's really not worrying me at all and am 100% sure it's HRT.

As I said before, my GP suggested continuing with the HRT for another couple of months (so about 6 months in total) to see if things settle down.

Have to say I had a few wobbly (low and moody) weeks where I felt quite low (after an initial great start) but am now feeling good again and very calm so hope it's going to continue  :)

Hope things get sorted for you Jasmine.

So question to you all - are the patches less likely to cause the negative aspects of the HRT ?

Thanks
Londongirl

Londongirl:
Thank you Susan

Well (fingers crossed) seems that things may be settling down.  My period has now finished and the spotting seems to have gone.  I hope I am not speaking too soon.

I do also feel much better in myself, the low mood has gone and have bounced back.

Here's hoping!

Thanks for all your support.

Another update - went back to my GP (thanks Susan) and explained that I just couldn't go on holiday feeling like this (moody and sweaty) so she reluctantly agreed to start me on some hrt paches.  She said that Femseven are from the same family as Femoston so they would probably not be suitable due to my history of spotting/bleeding, so she suggested that I try Evorel conti patches and I put the first patch in place on Monday Evening.

Unfortunately by Tuesday evening I felt like I could happily commit murder! I was so angry and argumentative then suddenly I turned into a blubbing wreck who was inconsolable (my OH thought I'd completely lost the plot!)  Luckily I realised pretty quickly that it might be the hrt, so I cut a patch into quarters and stuck a tiny piece on my bum instead.  Thankfully by the next day I was feeling much calmer and a lot more 'sane', but all the same it was so scary to feel so out of control and irrational.

I don't know if this hrt is going to be suitable for me (fifth try) but after this experience I'm going to take it VERY slowly indeed.  (On a positive note they stick like superglue!)

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Bette:
Hi Jasmine
I think that Susan's post probably has the answer - If you take a combi patch there is only Evorel or FemSeven to choose from. The first has northisterone in it which loads of women don't get on with (causes PMT)
Also, she does say
I've been lucky with the FemSeven Conti patches I dont get the spotting I did on Femoston Conti
so maybe you'd be ok with FemSeven Conti.  ??? I would have thought that the fact that She said that Femseven are from the same family as Femoston would be a reason to try them if you felt well on Femoston. Spotting problems are more likely to be connected to the balance of hormones than to the type, I would have thought.  :-\
