New member stats

The number of new members for the first 3 months this year is huge ie about 4 or 5 times higher than normal. Are these correct or do we have a glitch in the stats?

It's probably the huge increase in spammer registrations. About 99% get rejected but I have to vet each one and it's a time-consuming pest.
