Ooh there is a sewing shop near me, I might see if they are doing such things on a course.  It was tea cosies and aprons last time...

I agree M&S knicks are not the same, the multi packs don't fit well and the other ones are a weird shape.  I don't think you can get sloggi any more either.

I expect there are a few lingerie manufacturers n the UK, but they might be more  ...er specialist that the cotton knicks I like.

No idea how anyone manages to wear a thong for a day - must be the same people who can wear flip flops... :-)

I love my thongs!!!  I still wear M&S but am in mourning for the low-rise cotton strings which they no longer make.  :'(

I know how you feel Susan.  I can't think of anything more uncomfortable than a string!  Cotton bloomers rule these days!  What a good idea to make your own - could probably do it from a deconstructed pair of comfies.  I'll put it on my to do list...

The ones I saw on display were truly scrumptious - beautifully cut and made of satin tpe fabric with lovely detailing.

Oh Mrs P!  Good job you weren't stopped by the doormen on the way out and asked for a bag search!
(Remember that in the 70s/80s?.

Actually I had a friend that never wore knickers with her close fitting dresses.  I always asked her how she caught the drips!!

You also made me remember those tights with holes in that were supposed to replace the sexiness of stockings and suspenders!  What were we thinking?!

I saw tights like that the other day in either M&S or was it BHS.  It took me back.  Only ever had one pair as they were so uncomfortable!

Mrs P - you've shocked me!!   :o

Well, they were crotchless but they had holes over the hips too so they looked liked stockings attached to sheer nylon knickers.

I can only repeat, what about the drips?   ???

tights might have a look round for some

I wear the crotchless tights now and get them from a UK company (hint) on the net.

I searched around our local town first with no luck but made a few assistants laugh - they don't seem to be the trend in M&S ! - you may have better choice in London though.

That's like the ones I saw.

My mum could have done with crotchless ones for all her problems.

I can't remember the last time I wore a pair of tights but yes, I can see the crotchless ones would be a good idea if it's too nippy for fake tan.

Always on the lookout for cotton bras and knickers though - I think it's probably a waste of time though.  :'(

Have been in town today and I reckon Mary's knickers are pretty good value.  A lot of people think £10 is a lot for one pair but I tell you what, some are double and treble that AND made abroad!  I look at all labels now.
