Hi everyone. I have just got through to the pensions and the change was caused by my bank!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am with Santander and apparently they have only just got around to notifying the pensions and if there is any change to our account the pensions have to tell us.

Would have helped if they had said why!! Just bad timing I guess. Phew, I am so relieved and have burst into tears (stupid, I know). I just dont need a financial change with everything else that is happening.

I did ask if anything changes when someone is in hospital - state pension only after 52 weeks in hospital, but pension credit does change.

Yes, I agree Mrs P - very bad communications. I am taking your advice and popping in to the help shop this week to obtain information.

I find the websites too confusing for all this. I will also ask re lasting power of attorney / power of attorney. Not sure of the difference with these.

Without reading through all this, I think the Pension is re-directed in order to pay for the patients' daily care?  The Ward Sister or Hospital Social Worker should be able to tell you more and many UK Hospitals have a 'friends' group to give advice regarding Hospital issues.

Unlike others on here, I don't know anything about pensions but was hoping it was something simple for your sake. I hope you feel much better now but what a horrible weekend's wait xxx
